Learn switch tricks
Learning tricks switch can be difficult, so here's some advice for skating switch.
Why is it so difficult?
Mostly it's because you only learned to skate normal so it will be like learning the tricks again (believe me, you have to learn them again).
Doing tricks switch isn't easy. Some people make it look easy and others just suck at it. If you really want to skate switch it's up to you, but you don't really need it to be a good skater.
How to skate switch
When you try to do a trick switch, think of what you do normally. If you don't know it, you could try to film it and play it in slowmotion.
Now think of what to do in switch: switch the motion of your back and front foot. In every little detail. Where to put your weight, at what angle your feet will be etc... When you start trying this, the main problem is: it feels abnormal. This is normal. Don't think about it, just do the trick.
It's hard at first, but just try it, its fun to do nollies even if you can't pop them high, and they are great to win a game of skate (I can do nollie seatbelt airs flatland and I'm proud of it).
- Do exactly the same, but mirrored
- Pop hard (your pop will be less in switch, I assure you).
- Put your weight right before you pop (I always used to put my weight too much to the back when I did a switch ollie, so I failed.
- Be confident and practise!
