Bs darkslide trick tip
A darkslide is similar to a boardslide, but you slide on the griptape of the board. This obviously makes it a lot more difficult.
Darkslides were invented as a caveman trick by Mark Gonzales in 1991, but Rodney Mullen was the first one to ollie into them.

Ride towards a box in the kickflip position.
When you're next to the box, pop the board.
Use your front foot to flip the board in a half kickflip.
At the same time, shove the board 90 degrees.
Jump 90 degrees yourself and land on the upside-down board, with your front foot on the nose and your back foot on the tail.
Slide as far as your speed allows you to.
You can lean back a little to slide faster.
The landing is the most difficult part of the trick. The easiest way is to land in fakie.
To get your board back, use both your feet to shove the board 90 degrees. Sometimes this will also make it do the half kickflip back. If it doesn't, you can tap the heel of your front foot against the front truck a little to help flip it.
The sides of your griptape can get destroyed by doing darkslides, but it will still be skateable.
Darkslides can be done on rails as well, but it's easier on a box.
You can practise getting on and off the box stationary first, without the slide.
